The Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare, was created to help make health insurance more affordable and accessible for individuals and families—especially those who don’t get coverage through a job. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed or unsure about your healthcare options, you’re not alone—and I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
Whether you're self-employed, between jobs, or just looking for better coverage, ACA may be the solution.
Why Consider ACA Coverage?
Here are some reasons why ACA plans may be right for you:
Subsidized Monthly Costs: Many people qualify for financial help (called a subsidy) that lowers your monthly premium based on your income.
No Denials for Pre-existing Conditions: You can’t be turned away due to your health history.
Free Preventive Care: Most plans include services like annual checkups, mammograms, and screenings at no extra cost.
Essential Health Benefits: Coverage includes things like hospitalization, maternity care, prescriptions, mental health services, and more.
Multiple Plan Options: Choose from Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels to fit your budget and healthcare needs.
Who Qualifies for ACA Insurance?
You may qualify for an ACA plan if you:
Are a U.S. citizen or legal resident
Do not have access to affordable employer coverage
Are not enrolled in Medicare
Fall within certain income guidelines (ask me to help you check—many people qualify for $0 or low-cost plans!)
Even if you’ve been denied Medicaid or think you make too much money, I encourage you to double-check—surprising savings may be waiting for you!
There are two main times you can get coverage:
1. Open Enrollment (Usually November 1 – January 15)
This is the regular window when anyone can apply for or change their plan.
2. Special Enrollment Period (Anytime with a Qualifying Life Event)
You can enroll outside of Open Enrollment if you’ve experienced one of these:
Lost health coverage
Moved to a new ZIP code
Got married or divorced
Had a baby or adopted a child
Turned 26 and aged off your parents' plan
Released from incarceration
If you're not sure whether you qualify—just ask me. I’ll walk you through it.
